Revamp planned for biggest office block in Manchester
The biggest block of offices in Manchester is to undergo a major refurbishment as part of a project in the local area, designed to improve sustainability.
The One Hardman Boulevard building measures 506,468 sq. ft, making it comfortably the biggest office block in the city. It is situated within the Spinningfields district of Manchester, and that whole area is scheduled to be given sustainability upgrades.
The work on the office building means it will undergo a radical redesign that should bring it up to Grade A construction standards.
At the heart of all this will be making it more energy efficient and sustainable. The block is now owned by Parthena Reys Perennial Management SA, a real estate firm that is based in Luxembourg. This company brought in CS2 Chartered Surveyors for technical guidance and management of consultants and engineers during the refurbishment work.
Will Harrison from CS2 Manchester told a source that:
“Following the successful acquisition, CS2 is delighted to now be providing contract administration, project management and cost consultancy services for the strip-out phase of the project.”
He went on to add that the plan was to ensure that the revamped block was eligible for a BREEAM Excellent Refurbishment and Fit-out rating. This is something that is awarded based on sustainability criteria.
When the building work has been completed, the revamped block will be available for rent by multiple corporate tenants.
