Replacement contractor found for Manchester residential project
A replacement contractor has been found to finish the construction of a residential development in Manchester.
AC1 is the company that has been chosen to finish work on the project, which is called One Victoria. Construction of it got underway earlier this year and the original main contractor was Torsion Construction. This all descended into chaos though when the Yorkshire-based company went into administration. Now, after a period when its future was in limbo, completion of the project to a new deadline appears to be guaranteed.
The developer behind One Victoria is Zentra Group. It has been negotiating with AC1 for a number of weeks and those talks have borne fruit. The contract with Torsion Construction was cancelled in mid-summer and AC1 signed a letter of intent at that time.
Since then, both parties have been sorting out all necessary contracts and agreeing on a revised date for completion. With all of those conditions resolved, work should be able to resume.
When it is completed, One Victoria will contain a total of 129 flats. It is situated between Mirabel Street and Great Ducie Street.
Jason Upton is the Zentra Group chief executive. He told Place North West:
“Signing the full building contract marks an important milestone for One Victoria. The development is now at an advanced stage, we have a clear route through the remaining works and practical completion is currently expected in December.”
