New restaurant to come to Manchester

One of the top chefs in the country has announced that he will be opening a brand-new restaurant in Manchester next month.

This restaurant is set to be called Counter Manchester and will be part of the portfolio of the Open Restaurant Group. This will be the first time that it has ventured into the heart of the city though, and the role of head chef will be taken by Andrew Sheridan. The location that has been selected for the restaurant is Island Building, which is situated in John Dalton Street.

Sheridan has stated that he envisions the eatery offering something truly out of the ordinary. Among the tantalising titbits to emerge so far is that the food on the menu will combine produce from the local area with global ingredients and cooking methods.

Open Restaurant Group and Sheridan have also indicated that there will be a ‘theatrical’ atmosphere. What this means is something that remains to be seen, but Sheridan has numerous awards to his name, so the mouths of local food lovers will be watering at the prospect.

Some of the dishes that will feature on the menu include Scallop Hash Brown, Tuna Pizza and Beef Tartare Pressed Croissant. There will also be a grill serving dishes such as Satay Spatchcock Chicken.

The opening date that has been pencilled in for Counter Manchester is Monday, 9 November.
