Guide to creating effective festive signage
Christmas is fast approaching and it is an important time of the year for retailers. A good Christmas can boost their financial year, and festive signage can help to drive sales. Keep reading for a guide to creating great temporary Christmas signage.
Make your windows work for you
One place you don’t want to neglect at Christmas is your storefront – for the public, this is the window into your world. Festive window graphics can be a great way to grab attention and remind them of the need to shop for the season.
When designing them, make sure the images and colours fit the time of year. For example, green and red are colours traditionally associated with Christmas, as is imagery such as Santa Claus, reindeer and wrapped presents. Go with bright, bold shades. There must also be a clear point to the graphics – whether they are to promote a festive collection, seasonal sales offers or ideas for gifts.
Bring the inside alive
Once people are inside your shop, the festive theme should continue. Promotional display signage should be prominently placed alongside some of the items included in the promotions. Make use of softer, warmer colours for these, as this will complement your interior lighting.
While themed imagery will get the Christmas idea across, you still need to use fonts that can be read easily. Otherwise, it will be hard for people to grasp what the offer is – especially from a distance.
