Three great lettering choices for shop front signs
The lettering you choose for your front of shop sign can mean as much to its overall impact as the type of sign or the colour scheme.
Some make the mistake of selecting fancy script lettering, on the grounds that it is stylish, but it can also be unreadable from a distance. Below are three good lettering options.
Brixton SVG
This is a hand printed lettering font that is inspired by the various available choices in letterpress printing.
The letters are both bold and quite narrow, which means your shop name should fit easily on the sign while still packing a legible visual punch at any distance.
Horizon Wide Sans
Horizon Wide Sans is another bold capitalised lettering style, but the letters are a bit thicker than Brixton SVG.
It is highly achievable for people to read lettering in this style, and that will be the case even if they are viewing your sign from a far-off distance. Because of this, it has become a popular choice.
Quiche Sans
If you feel that your shop needs signage lettering that is more elegant without sacrificing readability, Quiche Sans could be the one to go for.
The curving letters are thick on one side and thin on the other, creating depth and contrast to help them stand out.
