Manchester hotel appoints new manager
One of the most prominent hotels in Manchester has announced the appointment of a new General Manager, and the man chosen has a wealth of experience.
DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Piccadilly has selected Alistair Campbell for the role of General Manager. He has spent his entire professional life within the hospitality sector, which adds up to almost 30 years. Prior to taking up this role, Campbell was employed as a General Manager at a number of other hotels around the country. His last job was with the Queens Hotel, which is in Leeds.
Campbell was born and brought up in Glasgow, but he moved to Manchester at the beginning of his career. While he switched to other locations later on, he settled back in the city more than a decade ago. Other Manchester hotels he has worked for are Radisson Blue Manchester Airport and Radisson Manchester City Centre.
After his appointment was announced, Campbell said that he had been employed at Hilton hotels when he was younger and had always been keen to go back. He added that this desire made his decision an easy one.
Valor Hospitality runs DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Piccadilly. It is one of the largest UK hospitality management firms and has 40 hotels in its portfolio. The owner of Valor Hospitality is ProsperCap.
As General Manager, Campbell will be responsible for making the experience of guests as positive as possible, as well as maintaining high levels of staff engagement.
