Contractor chosen for BTR project in Stockport
A contractor has been chosen to deliver a large build-to-rent (BTR) project that will be constructed in Stockport.
This project is set to consist of 588 homes and is the brainchild of Amstone Ventures. Now, that property developer has selected Keady Construction to build it, which is a company based in Kent. The project has been named No1 Knightsbridge and will be built in the heart of Stockport, near Warren Street. The chosen site used to be occupied by a Sainsbury’s supermarket.
The expected cost of the project is £150 million, and it will have a completion time of two and a half years. It will be made up of three separate blocks of flats, with the biggest having 15 floors and the smallest five. There will be 295 flats with a single bedroom, 270 two-bedroom flats and 23 that have three bedrooms.
Keady Construction is aiming to expand beyond its existing base in the South, and this will be its second major project outside of that part of the country. The company previously built a similar BTR scheme in Leeds.
Amstone Ventures director Adnan Siddiqi told Place North West:
“We were attracted to Keady Construction due to their significant experience in the residential sector and their philosophy on design and the environment.”
The first phase of the project will see two blocks built, while the third will be constructed in the second phase. Work will start early next year.
