Three things to avoid with vehicle livery

Vehicle livery can be one of the most dynamic promotional tools for small businesses.

Adding your company name and number to your vehicles means that they will be seen by a wider audience. There are some things to avoid, however, if you want to maximise the effectiveness of the advertising.

Photographs

It can be tempting to consider adding photos, but in most cases, this may not work well.

Photos can complicate the overall design of the livery, when in reality, you want it to be as simple as possible. The idea is to communicate essential information about your company to prospective customers during their brief exposure to the livery. As long as the text makes it clear what you do and how to contact you, a photo is unnecessary.

Fluorescent colours

Some firms decide to use bright fluorescent colouring for their vehicle livery, but this can seem overly harsh on the eye and distract from the actual information.

There is also the chance that those same colours are associated with the various emergency services, which can lead to people confusing your business with them.

Wrap-around text

Having your name and contact information added to the vehicles in a way that wraps around the bodywork might seem quirky. It will also, however, make it harder for people to read all of the information, which will defeat the point of having it there.

At Ainsley Signs, we design and create high quality vehicle livery in Manchester and the wider area. For more information on the services we offer, give us a call.
